Minors are exempted from OFII.
The “visa mineur” holder thus cannot validate his visa on the government validation platform until his/her visa expires (even after he/she turns 18).
However he/she can and should anticipate his/her application file for a laminated residence permit as soon as he/she turns 18.
The residence permit will allow him/her to travel abroad, which he/she cannot do with the “visa mineur”.
