CROUS - International students

A Crous grant for international students:


If you meet these conditions:


  • You are enrolled in an initial course of study in France
  • You are enrolled in a public or private course that entitles you to this grant (ask the establishment for details)
  • You are following a full-time course (not a sandwich course, for example)

If you are a European citizen (European Union, European Economic Area or Switzerland)

In addition to the conditions mentioned above, you must :


  • either have held a full-time or part-time job in France during the reference year (N-2), or
  • your father, mother or legal guardian received income in France during the reference year (N-2); or
  • or you have been living in France (continuously) for more than one year as at 1 September of year N.


You are of another nationality

You must :


  • have refugee status recognised by Ofpra,
  • be granted subsidiary protection by Ofpra,
  • hold a temporary residence permit or a resident's permit and,
  • have lived in France for at least 2 years, and
  • have had a tax household in France for at least 2 years,
  • or be Andorran and previously enrolled at a French lycée in the Principality.
